At the outset, let me wish you and your family health and peace in 2012. We at the branch are continuosly engaged in trying to raise the bar of quality of experience of our local members and students in their interaction with the branch as well as ensuring continous  knowledge enhancement for them. Over the last one year, we have tried our best to keep the members and students abreast of the various developments taking place in the regularory and professional environment. A total of   34   seminars and other programs were held which entitled the members to  113 CPE hours on attendance. These seminars were held on Service Tax, Direct Tax ,Investor Awareness ,Company Law,Ethical Standards & Audits and lectures were delivered  by inviting eminent faculties from across the country. Apart from the regular seminars, many other innovative activities also took place such as  ISA course, CAAT Workshop, Industrial Tour for GMCS Students, Cricket Matches ,IAP.

All this continued in the  long  tradition of knowledge development laid down  by my illustrious  predecessors and which continue  as the guiding force and vision for all of us to follow.With the fast changing environment, the need was felt to upgrade the Branch website and after long perusal and efforts, we are proud to launch the restructured Branch Website with many relevant features embeded in it. We request members to please come forward and contribute to enhance the richness of the site by sending in articles and  contributing to the  knowledge bank hosted on the website. The branch plans to launch an E-newsletter also and we look forward to members who wish to join the editorial board thereof..The website has facilities to receive enquiries and feedback and we keenly look forward to hearing from you.Only with the help of critical input by the family members, a large family like ours' can grow to its optimum strength.

With strong support and encouragement of our members, I am sure that  the incoming office bearers led by my successor will take the Branch  to  greater heights in the forthcoming year. As I lay down my office, my best wishes go out to the incoming office bearers and my thanks to the entire outgoing team, the branch support staff and each and every member of our branch for the support and encouragement provided to me in discharge of my duties.
