Event Detail:  STUDENT MEET AT "SHIKHAR"

A Students Meet – the first of its kind, was organized in the Branch Building. The results were quite unexpected, though. The Employer Members certainly deserve a pat on the back for allowing the students to attend the meet in great numbers making it a runaway success. The Branch’s endeavor, with special mention of the Students Committee, bore the fruit with the student community turning out in large number. The meet started with a very well power point presentation of the achievements of the Dehra Dun Branch right since its inception. It was a good archive to look into the past and watch for ourselves, the growth of the Branch from an infancy to adolescence Next on the agenda was some very valuable and priceless tips given to the Students by Mr. Naveen K. Gupta, Chairman - Students Committee. He shared his views, opinions and experience on how to prepare for exams. He also elaborated on what he thought was the need of the hour and where the students lacked. A very important aspect, which is often overlooked by the Students as well as the members in our profession, is the way we communicate. Brig A.K Anand, a profound gentleman had come over to enlighten us on the topic “COMMUNICATION SKILLS”. It was an interactive session and both the members and students revealed their thoughts in regard to the subject. Thereafter Mr. Harinder Ratra, explained the activities expected to be conducted by the Branch in the near future, like commencement of Library and Reading Rooms for the students, free monthly newsletter, Career Counseling, Coaching classes, etc. The students applauded the efforts made by the Branch. The students put forward the problems faced by them in pursuing the course and the expectations they have from the Branch. Each one of their problems were taken up & discussed by the executive members of the branch present on the occassion. The student’s were assured that there querries will be taken up by the career counseller , who will be available in the branch on Saturday each week.
